REAL EXPERIENCE · HORSE RIDING
I WAS LAUGHING
LIKE CRAZY.
The first time I got into the saddle,
I couldn't stop laughing.
And I wanted to go faster.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
It all started when I was five. My parents used to take me to Maksimir Park, where there would sometimes be horses on weekends.
I've always loved animals, so of course I wanted to give it a try.
That's how my love for these gentle giants began.
For a while, we kept going to Maksimir on weekends, until we eventually got in touch with a few riding clubs.
That's when my weekend adventures really began.
MY FIRST TIME IN THE SADDLE
The first time I sat in the saddle, I was laughing like crazy.
I was five, people! 😄
All I wanted was to go faster and for someone to stop leading the horse. I wanted to try it on my own.
Such an amazing feeling.
YEARS LATER
Over the years, there were some long breaks — university, work, life.
But now that I've found my own rhythm, I'm thinking about getting back into riding and working towards becoming a licensed riding instructor.
WHAT I'D SAY TO SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT TRYING IT
GET IN THE SADDLE.
Get in the saddle and laugh like the child you still carry inside you.
Give the horse a carrot and stroke its nose.
Take a selfie with your grumpy new friend.
It might just change your life.
MY VERDICT
A LOVE FOR GENTLE GIANTS.
It started when I was five in Maksimir Park. Today, I'm thinking about returning to riding and becoming a licensed riding instructor.
