BEHIND MOVE & TRY
MOVE & TRY STARTED
AS A TRY ITSELF.
A few years ago, I decided to change jobs. Actually, it was more than that — I decided to change direction.
I came from a completely different field and wanted to move into IT. It wasn't a change that happened overnight. I learned, explored, tried different things and slowly built knowledge I hadn't had before.
Programming was one of those steps.
I worked on small projects, learned how things worked and at some point decided to connect what I'd built into a prototype of a real product.
I just needed a product.
I wanted to build something that would let me grow, learn, try new things and gain new experiences — but also something whose success I could measure and that could have a bigger purpose.
Then the idea came.
And I tried.
THE BEGINNING
I STARTED WITH WHAT
I DIDN'T KNOW.
The first steps were pretty literal.
You build something — it doesn't work. You figure out why. You fix it. Then you break something else.
Some things I built stayed on the site. Some I deleted completely. Some I made five times before they started looking the way I'd imagined them.
And somewhere along the way, something interesting happened.
I realised I wasn't just building Move & Try.
I was doing exactly what Move & Try is about.
I was trying something I didn't know how to do before.
BEHIND THE PLATFORM
HI, I'M LIDIJA.
I like trying things.
Some of them have stayed in my life. Running has been around for years. Pole dance found its place too.
I love mountains, exploring and movement. I like learning things I don't know, going somewhere I haven't been before and taking those little detours simply because I want to know what's there.
Some things I try and decide aren't for me.
I value that just as much.
I don't think every new thing has to become a new hobby, a new skill, a new goal or a new part of our identity.
Sometimes you can do something just once.
That counts too.
MY BIGGEST TRY SO FAR?
THIS?
I could say this one. Absolutely.
Although I may have tried a few other things you'll never hear about.
But this is definitely one of them.
I built a platform.
I'm not a developer. I'm not a programmer. I'm not a designer. I'm not a marketing expert either.
And no, I'd never built anything like this before.
But I tried.
And today, there is a platform I didn't know how to build before.
To me, that counts as a successful TRY.
Because a successful TRY doesn't have to mean you became good at something.
Sometimes it just means you actually tried.
THE IDEA
WHY MOVE & TRY?
Somewhere along the way, I think we made starting things much more complicated than it needs to be.
Before we start running, we research shoes, watches and training plans.
Before we try a new hobby, we look at all the equipment we're supposed to buy.
Before we start learning something new, we look at people who have been doing it for ten years and wonder whether we're even made for it.
Move & Try wants to bring back a much simpler possibility:
You can just try.
You don't have to become a runner.
You don't have to become a dancer.
You don't have to become a programmer, a hiker, a potter or anything else.
You can go once.
You might like it.
You might not like it at all.
You might still not know.
They're all good answers.
MOVE & TRY
SO WHAT IS MOVE & TRY?
A place for people who want to try something new.
For people who already have.
And for people who will see something here and decide — no, thanks.
For people who want to share their experience and those who would rather keep it to themselves.
But also for people who really know their stuff.
Move & Try is a place where professionals get to have their say too.
Trainers, teachers, experts, instructors, artists, guides and people who know their field can bring that knowledge closer to someone who may only be considering their first step.
Because the real experience of a beginner and the knowledge of someone who's been doing it for years aren't the same thing.
We need both.
You don't have to prove anything here.
You don't have to become part of a community. You don't have to share your story. You don't even have to try anything.
You can just be curious.
WHAT'S NEXT?
THIS STARTED
AS MY TRY.
But I don't want it to stay just mine.
I imagine Move & Try as a place that grows through people who try, know, create and discover things.
Through real experiences, not just advice.
Through people who might give someone else just enough of a push to say:
Okay. I'll try.
